Apple fritters
Ingredients for 4:
2 rennet apples
100 g plain flour
1 sachet of baking powder
one tablespoon of icing sugar
one egg
milk as required
peanut oil for frying
Method:
Sieve the flour, the baking powder and the icing sugar together in a bowl.
Beat the egg lightly with a fork and add it to the dry ingredients. Mix in the milk slowly with a whip until the batter is smooth and creamy.
Peal the apples, cut them into 7-8 millimetre thick slices and remove the core with the aid of a round biscuit mould.
Soak the apple slices in the batter and fry them in plenty of hot oil. When the first side is cooked, turn them around and fry again for 30 seconds.
Place the fritters on absorbent paper and serve them warm with a dusting of icing sugar.
